Thanksgiving. Day 19.

Today I am thankful for

SLEEP

Yes, I said it.

I highly value my sleep.

Not the dozing sleep where I wake up super easy,

but that really, really deep quality “sleep like a rock” kind of sleep.

Thanksgiving. Day 16.

Today I am thankful for

E-man

full of knowledge

lover of words

sensitive & strong

Thanksgiving. Day 15.

Today I am thankful for my health.

So many of my friends and family are dealing with issues, sickness, and disease.

I am grateful that I am

Healthy
&
Whole

Thanksgiving. Day 11.

There are no words.

Words cannot even begin to express my gratitude to those who have fought, those who are still fighting, and those who will fight for our country, and our freedoms. Nor to their families who have loved, let go, and lost those who are most important to them.

The bible says,

Greater love has no one
than this: to lay down
one’s life for one’s friends.
John 15:13

This is what our military does

EVERY.

DAY.

VOLUNTARILY.

Your service and dedication to this country are incomparable. And to the family members and friends of such incredible people, you are an inspiration. To those who have lost their lives defending out freedoms, thank you cannot even touch what your life has meant.

Thanksgiving. Day 8.

Today I am thankful for basic necessities.

A roof over our heads

because it means we are protected

Gas in my car

because it means we can travel as needed

Beds to sleep in

because the keep us warm

Little hand-prints on the walls

even if it  means constantly repainting the walls
because it means my kids are happy and healthy

Laundry

because it means we have clothes on our backs

Dirty dishes

because they mean we have food to eat

Thanksgiving. Day 5.

Today I am thankful for knowledge,

and the ability to grow intellectually.

This, of course, may be due to the fact I am currently staring at a stack of books that all need my attention in one form or another today. This may also be due to the fact graduation is in just 7 months and I am already looking to go higher.

But there are places in this world where women are not allowed an education, not like what we have here.

I am thankful for my education.

Thanksgiving. Day 4.

I’m playing catch up today seeing as how I was in a camping induced coma yesterday and completely forgot to post Day 4. Yesterday we made it home from our camp-out and had company waiting for us. It was great!

My pastor and his wife, and one of my best friends were all here. My mom had snagged my friend from church and had her cooking and helping put out food and such. It was really very funny to walk in and see someone doing “my job” but it works. 🙂 I love the people in my life.

For yesterday,

I’m thankful for

the freedom to worship

community worship

organized worship

Even though I did not make it to church yesterday, I know that I can go to church without fear of being tortured and killed, becoming a martyr. There are so many places around the world where “freedom to worship” means “worship who we tell you to” and that is not the case here.

Something to think about.
