Here I Am To Worship.

More than anything I keep feeling the need to be in a place of constant worship, to have a heart of worship. That is why we are here: to worship, to fellowship, and to go. I plan on digging deeper into each of those but I’m stuck on worship for the time being.

I see my kids and how there are times they’ve said they would rather play the Wii than go to church. I sincerely believe that falls on me; that I haven’t taught them about worship or about God enough for them to want Him more than anything. Being more consistent with church attendance will help but ultimately I’m the one responsible so I have to look at the example I’m setting for them and make adjustments accordingly. Starting with worship.

A favorite worship song of mine is “Here I am to Worship”. I don’t know who the original artist is and there are so many who do it well; Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin, to Hillsong and more. It gets across a point. It basically says, “God, You’ve done so much for me, let me stop everything and worship You for You alone deserve my worship”.

“Here I Am To Worship”

Light of the world, You step down into darkness.
Opened my eyes let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore you hope of a life spent with you.

[Chorus]
And here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
You’re altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days,
Oh so highly exalted Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came to the earth you created.
All for love’s sake became poor.

[Chorus]
Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
You’re altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.

I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross.
No I’ll never know how much it cost to se my sin upon that cross.

[Chorus]
Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
You’re altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.
So Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you’re my God,
